DELFINIA was founded to address the needs of discerning travelers seeking an authentic, insider's view of Greece, without sacrificing comfort and amenities.  Throughout many years exploring this region, we found it difficult to come by reliable information on accommodations, dining experiences, leisure activities, or transportation options that would best meet our standards as well-traveled Americans. 

 

On our personal quest to find the "best of Greece", we uncovered "diamonds in the rough" and true "gems," as well as our share of disappointments.  But we always kept our standards high.  We discovered boutique inns where the food was sublime and the accommodations and service unparalleled, unspoiled beaches and crystal blue waters that had escaped the crowds, and wonderful family-run taverns and restaurants that transformed fresh locally sourced ingredients into truly memorable meals.

 

The result is our list of "favorites" - hotels, inns, taverns, restaurants, yachts, villas, food and wine experts, tour guides, and leisure activities that will satisfy the most demanding of travelers seeking both luxury and unique, authentic experiences in Greece and the Aegean.   It is for this reason DELFINIA was founded - to share this Greece with you!

Introduced to Greece and the Aegean by her Greek-American husband, Nancy has spent many weeks during each of the last fifteen years exploring the region with family and friends.  Revisiting favorite destinations and discovering new ones, she has windsurfed in the islands, hiked mountains and explored caves, toured wine country, relaxed on pristine beaches, and dined at the full range of regional tables.  Her love for this remarkable country endures and she returns year after year, drawn by its sheer beauty, exceptional cuisine, and the warm hospitality of its people.

Nancy's passion for all things Greek, combined with her love of wine and great food, led DELFINIA to launch the first luxury food and wine tours of Greece in an exclusive collaboration with Konstantinos Lazarakis MW, the leading expert on Greek wines.  Perhaps Nancy's favorite part of DELFINIA is her role as co-leader of the food and wine tours.  Together with DELFINIA's wine guide, Ilias Roussakis, she relishes each opportunity to introduce her guests to the finest Greek culinary and oenophile experiences.

 

Nancy holds the Intermediate Certificate in Wines and Spirits from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust in London (WSET), the world's foremost wine and spirits educational organization. She also holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Columbia University in New York, New York and was formerly an investment banker specializing in financing infrastructure and energy projects throughout the world. 

 

When not leading one of DELFINIA's Food and Wine Tours of Greece or traveling throughout the region personally, Nancy can be found with her husband and two sons in Connecticut.  Nancy looks forward to welcoming you to Greece!

Ilias has worked for more than seven years in the production of high quality wines in France (Montagne Saint-Emilion) and Greece (Mantinia and Nemea in the Peloponnese, Tinos, and Santorini).  DELFINIA is pleased to have Ilias share his knowledge and passion for wine and the vineyards with you.
